Whatcom Falls Park is near my home and a beautiful place to spend a day, morning or afternoon. Many people and families in our town have memories of picnicking, swimming, fishing and playing at Whatcom Falls. The larger falls is a little farther down the river, but this upper falls is a safer area for families and and artists to spend time. I have sketched and painted here several times. This sketch is part of series I am doing of local sketches around Whatcom County.
